located between central park and the east river, 59th and 96th, the upper east side is the wealthiest borough in new york. stock brokers, politicians, and other high-and-ups and their families reside in the historic brick townhouses and elegant villas.

just on the other side of central park, the upper west side is where artistic and cultural workers call home. not quite as plush as the upper east side, the upper west side still has an average income higher than the rest of manhattan.

filled with skyscrapers, commuters, and a lot of new york’s most famous landmarks, midtown stretches from the hudson river to the east river, between 14th and 59th street. better known as the business district, midtown is the busiest neighborhood in all of america.

home to chinatown, soho, wall street and greenwich village, lower manhattan is the most diverse part of manhattan, a mixture of artists, stock brokers, vendors, hippies and students.

one of the most ethnically diverse of new york’s boroughs, the bronx is a melting pot of irish, german, puerto rican, jamacian, african american and pretty much any other type of immigrants.

the most populated of the long island boroughs, brooklyn was once its own city and retains that sense of individualism. its art is different, its neighborhoods are more ethnically grouped. it’s just a nonconformist.

the largest of the boroughs, queens is a mixture of urban and rural, with northern queens all bustle and hubbub and commotions and southern queens a place for quiet, suburban living, as impossible as it seems that close to the big apple.
