history.
farren's history is rather boring, so boring in fact that she can't remember exactly how many years she's been alive. she lost track somewhere around the first world war; she was too busy using the blood and despair as a cover to cause a little bit of bloodshed and despair herself. and you know what they say about time when you're having fun.
the most notable part about farren's history is her bloodline, more specifically the fact that she's the only granddaughter of the last reigning seelie king. he was overthrown by the current seelie queen way back in the early nineteenth century, when farren was still relatively young, so she doesn't remember much except that people stopped being exceptionally nice to her. her family tried to keep her from the horror of the overthrowing of her grandpa, and the following murder, but there's only so much you can hide when you can't lie.
her resentment for the current seelie queen is reasonable, even though the queen, having no direct relatives of her own, left her princess status intact in the event that something should happen to her highness. the queen has been preening farren, teaching her how to act in front of people and about the messy, sticky behind the scenes politics so that farren so that if the queen cannot, for whatever reason, rule her people, farren is there to step up to prevent a bloody revolution for the throne. her highness even went as far as to set up an engagement between farren and one of her most loyal servants to ensure that fare wouldn't run away when she's needed.
the queen assumes that fare wants the throne, since royalty runs in her veins. she assumes that a kind, attractive potential husband would be enough to ensure that she endures the unpleasantries of ruling an entire court. she never bothered to realize that farren doesn't want anything to do with the court, that she's far more intrigued by the complexities of the mundane world than she ever could be with the snarls and tangles of the seelie lifestyle.

[/justify]This character application was made by danger (aka pixified of caution 2.0). The lyrics are from the song “telephone”, which belongs to Lady Gaga. I don’t claim those. But all the rest is mine. Just because I didn’t post it on caution doesn’t make it not mine. Do not remove or edit this credit under any circumstances. Just don’t. I really don’t want to have to dig my shotgun out of the closet and come hunt you down for stealing all of my hard work.
