OH NO, WHAT’S THIS? A spider web and I’m caught in the middle so I turned to run, the thought of all the stupid things I’ve done
Carter woke up—from a well deserved nap—with a brilliant idea. He had his rumbling stomach to thank for it and since he was in the mood for a bloody steak, he decided he was heading over to Taki’s. He got up from bed, threw on a black tee shirt, since he’d apparently fallen asleep in his jeans shirtless; must be the damn humidity getting the better of him; and headed out. Before he did head out, however, he completed two tasks: one, text his girlfriend to see if she wanted to join him—he was thrilled when she said yes and that she’d meet him there—and two, invite his sisters along. It didn’t seem fair to Carter that he had a sure way of fulfilling his hunger while he left his two sisters to fend for themselves, so he took the initiative of offering them a free meal, since he knew well that they didn’t actually get into the nitty gritty of cooking much. That was usually Lillian’s job. “Come on, to get out of the house a little,”
he’d said to them, seeing as they’d all been inside for a majority of the day. Smiling at Allie’s reply via text, Carter went into the bathroom to freshen up, messing up his hair all sexy and bed-head like and washing his face. The cold water against his skin felt really good, especially since he’d been sweating just a few moments ago. Someone pounded on the bathroom door and Carter rolled his eyes. One of his sisters apparently had the same idea as he and as he made his way out of the bathroom, he purposely and tauntingly got in her way until she finally snaked through and past him, her petite frame helping her for once instead of being a burden. She then slammed the door in his face, which made Carter grin. When all was said and done, Carter supposed he forgot to tell his sisters that he’d also called Allie, but he didn’t see the problem. They got along fine, right? She’d been the first he called, after all, so in all honesty, he felt more that he should apologize to his girlfriend, hoping he didn’t just let her down, thinking this would be something overly romantic. Though he supposed that with their first year anniversary coming up, he should be thinking like a romanticist. He was already having trouble thinking of a present to give her, so a romantic dinner was far from his mind and yes, he’d been made aware that the dinner couldn’t count as the present; that they had to be separate, which blew his mind. He didn’t have much for a budget recently. He vaguely saw their faces change as they met up with the other girl and couldn’t understand why. She looked stunning in his eyes and was smiling brightly. He felt outshined by her, but this was probably because he was mainly wearing all black. “Did we keep you waiting long?” he asked Allie as he wrapped an arm around her waist. He kissed her forehead, bringing her closer to him and then waved his sisters on. “Come on, let’s get a good seat.” Inside of Taki’s wasn’t as crowded as Carter thought it’d be for an afternoon lunch rush. This pleased him and after spotting a familiar waitress, he smiled and waved, ushering the girls into a booth that was huddled towards the wall. Said waitress came over with menus shortly after and Carter uttered thanks. “Get anything you want. My treat,” he said. He looked over at Allie, feeling out how comfortable she was in a place like this. This hadn’t been the first time he’d taken her here, but Taki’s was a very unpredictable place. carter, ashlyn, vic WORDS eight seven two MUSIC green eyes, joe brooks. NOTES i just made her a vegitarian... O__O made by FAINE on FLE![/div] Red. That was the color Allison had decided to paint her nails. It wasn't red like blood red, but almost a very dark shade of pink, that's practically red, but is still pink. She carefully painted her right hand nails, then her left. After painting each nail she'd thoroughly inspect it, making sure there were no flaws. After two coats of nail polish, she was lazily watching TV in her living room when her cell phone buzzed. She reached over to the coffee table and grabbed it, careful not to damage her perfect paint job. "Carter <3" the outer screen read. She grinned and flipped open her phone. He was inviting her to go to Taki's with him. She wondered if this invitation was in light of their approaching one year anniversary. Taki's wasn't the most romantic of places, she thought to herself, but as long as she was with Carter, it really didn't matter to her where they went.
That is... unless he brought his sisters.
Allison didn't mind Victoria so much, overall she was a pretty sweet girl and she didn't try to cut into Allison's Carter time. Ashlyn on the other hand was a different story. Allison couldn't stand her at all. Ashlyn was so territorial over her family it almost disgusted her. She lived with Carter, for god sakes! She got to see him every single freaking day since they were born! Yet, Ashlyn felt the urge to impose herself on them whenever Allison got alone time with Carter. It annoyed Allison to no end.
Hoping for the best, Allison sent a short and sweet reply back to Carter and, once her nails had finally dried, went to her room to get ready. She went to the bathroom, brushed her teeth and put on makeup. Afterwards she changed out of her shorts and cami and put on something more "Carter worthy". Then she went back to the bathroom and then she ran in to the bathroom to inspect her hair, she brushed it a few times and was happy with how it looked, it had a few natural curls to it and they were looking particularly good with fairly little effort, which for Allison was a miracle. However, she didn't dwell on the miracle long, for she didn't want to keep Carter waiting too long. So she grabbed her purse, scribbled a note to her mother, who was currently out, stuck the note on the fridge, and left the apartment.
The walk to Taki's wasn't terribly long, and it was a fairly nice day so it wasn't uncomfortable either. When she arrived, she had to focus. It was a little harder to see things mundanes like her were not meant to see without Carter pointing her in the right direction. She waited outside the restaurant for Carter to arrive. She didn't want to attract attention to herself by going in alone. She was a mundane after all, and mundanes didn't usually enter Taki's without the company of someone magical, nonetheless be able to even see it without the company of someone magical.
Withing the next few minutes, Allison caught sight of Carter. Her face brighten and she had a big smile on her face. When Carter wrapped his arm around her and kissed her on her forehead, she giggled softly in delight. She was about to answer his question, but when she went over it again in her head, something in his words struck her. He said "we". Not "I". Allison looked away from Carter and saw what he meant. To her dismay, both of Carters sisters were standing there, as happy to see her as she was to see them. Meaning not at all. However, she couldn't let Carter see her obvious disappointment so she pasted a very fake, but very cute smile on her face and said, "No, not at all. I just got here."
Inside, Allison was pleasantly surprised that Taki's wasn't overly crowded. That meant less stares in her direction. She was always a little self conscious about it, being able to see the magical world, but not really being a part of it. She preferred to keep it to herself that she could see what magical people thought she couldn't, but that was impossible in Taki's, because they only way she'd be in there at all is if she could see them.
When the four of them sat, Allison could feel some of the eyes on her looking away, which made her feel slightly relieved. She didn't want Carter to know that she was still little uncomfortable here after almost a year of being with him, so she tried to seem as comfortable as possible, even though she was feeling the opposite inside.
Without much of a wait, the waitress was at their table to take their orders. Carter said that they could get anything they wanted, to which Allison smiled brightly. For a drink, she ordered green tea, something she happened to like very much. However, she was still pretty undecided on what to get to eat, something vegetarian, of course, but that's all she knew. She leaned over to Carter a bit. "What are you going to get?" she asked sweetly. "I'm not too sure what I should get..."
