Welcome to Flawed Little Experiments!
We have a few guidelines that need to be covered before you get started.
number one. if you’re going to make an account on our site, you’d better make an application, too. we don’t need all of these random accounts floating around because people decided “oh, this site is cool! sign me up!” and then abandoned it for something cooler. (as if. nothing’s cooler than fle.) by registering to the site, you’re making a commitment to make a character. you’re also making a commitment to rp as that character. at least one in-character post every three days isn’t too much to ask, now is it?
number two. if one in-character post every three days is too much to ask, then we’re going to start off on the wrong foot, but it can be fixed. if you go an entire week without making an in-character post, then we have a problem. if this happens, and you haven’t posted in the absences board or informed a staff member about your reasons for lack of activity, then we reserve the right to delete your account and put your characters up for adoption. to prevent this, the new codeword is lalala whatever, and we expect at least one in-character post for each character you have every week. so if you have susy, doug and lester, but you only make a post for susy and lester, we as admins can delete doug because you haven’t kept him active. it’s harsh, but it ensures that the site stays alive and gains new members because it looks alive.
number three. when you make your character, please change your display name to that character’s first middle last name. (ex. john doe smith)
number four. you can have up to six (that’s right, six!) characters on flawed little experiments, on a few conditions. 1, you have to have a separate account for each of them. we know it’s a hassle, but it makes the site look neater and it’s not that difficult. 2, keep them all active. easy peasy, right? 3, for every two characters of one gender that you make, make the next character the opposite gender. (ex, if your first two characters are girls, make your third a boy.) it keeps the gender ratio even so the site isn’t completely overrun. 4, no one is perfect. your characters shouldn’t be either.
number five. once you have your character made, accepted, and claimed (number four point five. you must claim your character’s face and living space. all other claims are optional.) you’re free to make them misbehave to your heart’s content. they can steal boyfriends or torture innocents or call people names and swear and be drama queens (or kings!) out of character? nuh-uh. we know that you know how to behave. be respectful, include others, don’t go around picking fights or calling people names. blah blah blah. it’s kindergarten material, and you’ve heard it a million times before. that means that no one will get away with not following this rule.
number six. we know that you’re going to want to post prettyful pictures of your characters all over the site. we’re cool with that, but here’s a few things. 1, all avatars must be 150x200. not bigger, not smaller, 150x200. 2, signature size cannot exceed 500x400, text included. it stretches the board and makes it look yucky. 3, no nudity. there’s a line, and if you cross it, we’ll have to ask you to change the image to something of a lower rating. understoood?
number seven. flawed little experiments is a literate site. this means these rules really shouldn’t be in all lowercase, but danger was lazy when she wrote them and then liked the way they looked so she didn’t change them. it also means that all in-character posts should be at least four hundred words. four hundred really isn’t that much, so we don’t want to hear any complaints. but, we are sympathetic people. we understand that bad days happen, and that muse can be harder to find than the holy grail. we’ll let a few three hundred and something word posts go, but absolutely nothing less than three hundred for in-character posts.
number eight. flawed little experiments is rated pg-13 in accordance to proboards rules. that means that there will be no graphic violence, sex, or excessive swearing. we know it can be a bummer, but not following it could get flawed little experiments deleted, and that just wouldn’t be cool. so if we catch you breaking this rule, we’re going to have to take serious precautions to keep our site safe. you don’t want to deal with our serious precautions. we are not pretty when we’re pissed off.
number nine. we have an advertising board here. it’s even guest friendly! since we have that nifty little board, we’d appreciate it if you didn’t advertise anywhere else on the site. not in another board. not in the c-box. not even in a private message. just don’t do it, okay?
Nothing too fancy. Now get outta here. Go make a character or destroy a city or something.
