other important stuff. Victoria never liked the cold. Since she was born during the Summer, warm weather always had suited her better than cold. She liked to run around and feel free as opposed to being trapped in bulky clothing and sloshing through melting snow. Although, Tori did like Winter for one thing: the hot chocolate. Yes, you could have that in all of the seasons, but anyone would agree that it was the best in the Winter.
Tori has always seen the best in people. Even if they had flaws that were beyond notable, she could find something that was appealing about them. Not consciously, of course. She never thinks to herself, oh, I have to focus on the good parts of them. It comes naturally, and that's what makes her special. She'd always been an optimist, and as she grew older, it became more obvious to others.
However, Victoria has never been as particularly confident as her two other siblings seem to be. She's always been humble and modest, never able to take compliments, and rather picky about who she made friends with. Her friends were always a particular breed: nerd. Not the stereotypical popping-lenses-out-of-3D-glasses nerds. No, no. Nerds that were smart and could rant about quantum physics all day and never get bored. Tori enjoyed their company--most of the time--and when she didn't feel like getting taught outside of her home-schooling, she'd go to another clique of friend. She'd always been blessed with a bundle of friends that seemed to replenish often. She never quite understood why she seemed to be such a crowd favorite, but she didn't complain, either.
Just because she isn't confident doesn't mean she doesn't believe in herself, though. After all, the girl has got angel blood in her! She ought to live up to it, and she does. Tori's always been feisty. She's not afraid to speak her mind, but she'll regret hurting someone's feelings even if she's in the right for it. She frequently gets compared to her mother, but living up to an image like the almighty Clarissa Fray's didn't seem like something Victoria thought she could do. Her mother was admirable in every way. Who was she to compare with her?
And while we're on the subject, who was she to live up to her siblings? They were admirable, too. Victoria loved both her brother and her sister, and they had so much about them that she wished she had inherited, too, but it didn't turn out in her favor. Tori had spent her whole life thinking that way and trying to force their personality and habits onto herself. Admittedly, that turned out to be a very bad thing. She never took any time to figure out who she was. So now she just feels lost and alone in the world. Well, aside from Uncle Simon. He was always there for her. That could probably be the reasoning that Tori found herself retreating to his side more often these days. It had been beyond her why she felt attached to him, but now it made sense. Although, she doesn't feel any less lost than she did before realizing that.Help?

sample.Lily bounced a little in her seat and smiled brightly, "Oh yes. So we're even." She watched the cloud-heart steam up from the freshly-poured tea. That was really quite a nice charm to place on the beverage, especially since this was usually a couple hangout. The redhead hadn't thought twice about coming here today even though it was for couples. They had the best tea, and she knew Severus wouldn't mind. Looking up at the thought of the boy, Lily listened to him speak, more than willing to listen.
Nodding at his reasoning, Lily smiled softly. "Oh, how very gallant of you." She gracefully picked up her tea cup, instinctively sticking her little finger out as to look sophisticated as she drank. After sipping it, she sat it back down and made the 'mmm' noise as she looked up at her best friend, laughing a little bit. "This is definitely still my favorite. How do you remember these things?" She shook her head playfully and tilted her head to the side, narrowing her eyes at him. "It's remarkable, really; your memory." Lily pretended not to notice the pale blush on his face. It accented him pretty well, adding some color to his usually-dark appearance. It made her give him a small smile as he moved his gaze elsewhere.
The couple-stricken place had captured his attention, apparently. Severus was glancing all around the room, probably to try and erase that blush from his face. Lily grinned as it backfired, watching his face turn a brighter pink than before. Poor soul. He was so easily embarrassed. Then, she wondered if it was making him uncomfortable. Suddenly worried, Lily swallowed hard. That was the last thing she wanted to do for him. She watched the blush on his face slowly fade, and she fought the urge to pout. It looked so flattering on him.
The girl didn't care to hide the shock on her face when Severus said he'd been cutting out on Advanced Potions. He was in there for a reason! And he'd been cutting. Before she could lecture him, he told her not to. Well, Sev knew her quite well, because now she was tapping her fingers on the table in a manner that displayed how she felt about it. "How do you know they're safe? What if they have side-effects or something unexpected happens to it once it's done? If something little goes wrong, you could mess up the common room, or even worse, yourself." She raised her eyebrows at him and her hair barely blew when the fresh air swept in from the couple walking in.
"Potter's left me alone so far this year. Thank Merlin. Give it time, though. He'll do something." Lily pursed her lips in annoyance and shook her head, her bouncy red hair going across her shoulders in various directions. "Let's hope not, though. I don't want to have to duel him this year." She smirked at Severus and then took another sip of her tea. Really, she wanted Potter to just leave both her and Severus alone. He hadn't though, and she highly doubted that he would until they graduated. Maybe he'd mature though. Not likely.
(I would paste the whole thing but it's proboards enhanced.)

This character application was made by danger (aka pixified of caution 2.0). The lyrics are from the song “telephone”, which belongs to Lady Gaga. I don’t claim those. But all the rest is mine. Just because I didn’t post it on caution doesn’t make it not mine. Do not remove or edit this credit under any circumstances. Just don’t. I really don’t want to have to dig my shotgun out of the closet and come hunt you down for stealing all of my hard work.
