"Yes, mom."
Victoria called down to her mother as she zipped her corset up. Her mother had bought her a new Shadowhunter outfit, and quite frankly, Vic loved it. The whole puffy top with a tight corset luck? So medieval and classically brilliant. As a great change from her previous knee-high boots, these had no heel. It was tiny, and it was easy for Vic to work with. This was going to be fun. Especially since Clary needed something from a craft shop up a few blocks, and she'd chosen Vic to do it as opposed to her brother or her sister. It made her feel... special. And not as much like a failure as a Shadowhunter. She'd only killed one demon in her sixteen years and that was by luck. She appreciated her mother having enough faith in her to test her like this. Jogging downstairs and out the door, Victoria was glad she had a glamour on this time. If she was walking down the street like this, she'd get some funny looks for sure. Not that she necessarily cared, but still. As Vic walked, it was almost a relief to be invisible to everyone else. She wasn't getting stared at for her hair or eye color. For some reason, they were seemingly captivating to Mundanes and she didn't appreciate their prolonged gazes very much. They made her feel awkward. Proceeding up the street, she didn't see any demons. For some reason, she really wanted to see one. That way she could say she'd defeated two instead of one. If she defeated it, that is. But of course she would. She was the daughter of two amazing Shadowhunters. She should be a natural. Going into the craft shop, Victoria was confused. Wasn't she invisible to them? Wouldn't it just be her stealing it? Oh, she couldn't do that. She'd die of guilt. Plus, no one was even at the register. Grabbing a sticky note from their desk, she scribbled a quick explanation and stuck it to the register with the money. That should do it! Vic contently walked out and put the pack of charcoal pencils inside of her corset like her mother instructed in case of an attack. That would be a waste of money if they got busted in the process. Walking back, Vic was almost home when she saw something behind a building. Raising an eyebrow, Vic was lucky she was fast. She basically took an elongated step over to the alley and peeked behind the building. An Ahiab demon. And it'd just seen her. Quickly taking out her favorite dagger as it lashed at her, Vic went to battle with the ugly thing. It was quite revolting. Two mouths of serrated teeth, a razor-boned tail, freaky talons, and a long, forked tone with a weird ball on the end. Ugh. Luckily, Victoria was good at close-combat. She killed it in a matter of ten minutes and escaped with a few scrapes from its tail. No biggy. Yeah, until two more came from behind the building. Crap. What had she gotten herself into?[/blockquote] tagged; open! words; 518 outfit; here!notes; meep. [/blockquote]

[style=font-size: 10px; font-family: Arial; color: #656565; padding: 10px; text-align: justify; border-right: 4px solid #dcdcdc; text-transform: none;] Valene entered the craft store to find that a Shadowhunter girl was already there. She took a moment to ponder why the girl was using glamor in a store. Was she planning on stealing something? Valene chuckled inwardly. Shadowhunters were supposed to fight for justice yet this Shadowhunter might be stealing something. That would be quite ironic. However, Valene didn't really care whether the Shadowhunter took anything. She just needed to restock on spray paints, and then she'd be on her way.
Valene made her way to the spray paint section quietly. She picked up three black spray paints cans and paused, trying to decide if she needed anything else. After a minute or two, she picked up two purple spray paint cans and carried them to the counter. The cashier wasn't there but on the register Valene spotted a sticky note next to some money. She didn't need to read the note to know who had written it. So, the Shadowhunter girl didn't steal. How boring. Valene rang the bell on the counter and it was only about a minute before the male cashier came from the back. He looked at the sticky note quizzically and picked up the money. He then asked Valene if she had seen the person who wrote the note.
Valene wasn't in the mood to give an explanation to the man, so she simply shook her head. The man shrugged and put the Shadowhunter's money in the register. He then rung up Valene's paint cans and bagged them and she took her wallet out of her jeans pocket and paid him. After being thanked for the purchase Valene nodded to the man, put her wallet back in her pocket and quietly left the store.
The nearest subway entrance was a few blocks away, so she'd have to do a little walking. Valene then pulled her cell phone out of her hoodie pocket to check the time. It was still a few hours before it got dark, so Valene didn't have to rush home. She took to a leisurely pace down the street.
As Valene walked she caught a whiff of demon stench. She wrinkled her nose in disgust. Demons always smelled terrible, kind of like rotting flesh. She hated the fact that being a werewolf enhanced her sense of smell. Being in the city, the bad smells greatly outnumbered the good ones. Valene tried to ignore the smell as she walked, but the closer she got the the subway entrance, the more intense the smell became. As she got even closer, she could hear the demon now. She heard it screech. A Showdowhunter must've been battling it.
Valene was only about a block away from the subway entrance when she saw the demon and the Shadowhunter. As she watched the battle, she noticed that it was the same Shadowhunter girl from before. The girl seemed to be skilled at close combat and beat the demon fairly quickly. Having lost interest in the girl, Valene began to walk down the stairs to the subway. When she was halfway down, the smell of two more demons hit her like a wave. She turned around and practically ran up the stairs. Could the Shadowhunter handle two of these demons? Valene wasn't in the mood to really help this girl, but if this girl got hurt and an elder found out Valene was there and didn't help her, she'd probably get some crap for that. Valene glamored herself and ran toward the girl as she transformed into her werewolf form. She didn't wait for the girl to acknowledge her, she just ran at one of the demons and attacked, biting into it.

Victoria saw this as a challenge. She never usually backed down from them, so what made this an exception? Nothing did. Nothing could stop her from showing her true colors. The problem was that she didn't even know what those colors were besides being able to fight at close range with daggers at an alarming speed for a human. Luckily, she was scarily small. She was only 5'6" and 92 pounds. So, of course, she could be thrown across the street with no questions asked, but she'd come right back in a matter of seconds. Her mother always said that was a good quality. They'd tried to strengthen her up and get some meat on her bones, but nothing worked. Her metabolism had turned out to be both a curse and a blessing.
As she turned to kick one of the demons away, Vic caught a glance of a girl she'd seen earlier in the craft shop. If she'd guessed right, the girl was a downworlder because they could see each other. Mutually, instead of it just being Victoria. So she had to be something more than a mundane, that was definite. Just for that one second of being distracted, a demon jumped at her without her being prepared, its teeth bared and ready to attack. Luckily, something came out of nowhere and knocked it down, biting into it as Victoria was just about to throw her arms up to protect her face and head. Well then. It'd just been a blur when she'd seen it, but now that she actually looked at it, it was a werewolf. And the girl from earlier had vanished. Was it her?
Getting back into the zone, Vic rushed towards the other demon and began to battle it as the werewolf handled their's quite gracefully. She successfully killed it, escaping with a few scrapes and a big scratch from her lower lip to her chin. Other than that, she was perfectly fine. Sure, her lip was split, but she could easily say she fell if any mundanes looked at her weird or asked about her. Sliding her dagger back into its sheath, she looked at the werewolf. "Thank you for your help."
She smiled warmly and offered her hand politely. Now was no time to slip up on manners. Not when this person had just saved your life. Victoria felt like she owed her something and wouldn't stop until she'd proven herself worthy of the life that the werewolf had reassured her.[/blockquote] tagged; open! words; 417 outfit; here!notes; yay! <3 [/blockquote]

[style=font-size: 10px; font-family: Arial; color: #656565; padding: 10px; text-align: justify; border-right: 4px solid #dcdcdc; text-transform: none;] One of the downsides about being a werewolf was that her strongest weapon was her razor sharp teeth. Utilizing them wasn't the issue. Biting something, at least to her, seemed much easier than having to wield a weapon. Unfortunately, whenever Valene bit something, she'd have to taste it, and needless to say, demons did not taste very good at all.
As her fangs sunk into the demon's skin, it screamed out in pain. Valene had successfully saved the Shadowhunter from possibly fatal attack, so that was good; but now she had to fight off the demon before it tried to attack her like it had tried to attack the Shadowhunter. Valene knew she'd have a hard time defending herself, due to the demon have two heads where as Valene only had one. But it wasn't if Valene hadn't fought off a demon or two before, so she wasn't to nervous about the possible outcome.
The fight was short, within a few minutes, Valene was able to deliver the fatal blow and kill it. On the upside, her only real injury was on her left shoulder, which, in her wolf form, was barely visible that's to her massive amounts of fur. However, she new that as soon as she reverted back to her human form, her shoulder and her arm would be a bloody mess under her black hoodie.
Valene looked over to the Shadowhunter girl to see that she had defeated her demon as well. The girl didn't seem too injured, the only visible injuries being a few scratches and a split lip. When the girl thanked her, Valene simply nodded. However, when the girl offered Valene her hand, Valene reluctantly returned to human for. Just as she predicted, she could feel the bloody mess under her hoodie.
"You're welcome," she said simply. She smiled back at the girl and reached out with her good arm and shook her hand. When the hand shake was finished, Valene put her that hand over the spot on her shoulder that was bleeding, hoping to stop the blood at least a little bit.
"I'm glad I got here when I did," she continued. "That demon could have gotten you pretty bad." She gave the girl a wry smile. It was then that Valene remembered the bad taste in her mouth. She needed water, or something to wash the horrid taste out of her mouth immediately. If she didn't wash it out soon, her breath might start to smell like demon, and that would not be good.

Victoria felt sorry for the girl having been a werewolf in battle. They usually fought with their claws and teeth, and she simply couldn't imagine how demons tasted. If anyone thought they tasted even decently, Vic would admit them to a psych ward. She couldn't even stand the smell of them, and if she couldn't handle that, then she definitely couldn't adjust to the taste. It would be like eating a toxic slime for the sake of a victory. It would be worth it, but immediately after, in Victoria's case, she would run and vomit or drink something tasty immediately after to wash the taste down. She had no idea why she was considering such a thing, though. A werewolf had no reason to bite her anytime soon, so she shouldn't be worrying about it from her point of view, just from this poor girl's.
Glad to see the girl smile back, Victoria's own smile brightened considerably. She knew some Downworlders still didn't like nephilim, and was always relieved to meet those who didn't. She couldn't imagine meeting one who didn't like her kind. Vic wasn't exactly the most threatening nephilim at first glance, but she could kick some demon tail, and would do the same to someone who was being a jerk. She hated rude people, especially when they held something against an entire race for something a few concentrated people did. The reluctant few who didn't like nephilim were few and far between, and that was a blessing in itself. Victoria loved to meet new people of her world, like this girl that had just saved her from utter doom.
Chuckling half-heartedly, Victoria dropped her hand and nodded. "I'm glad you got here, too. I'd probably be horribly hurt or maimed or even worse at this point if you hadn't have showed up."
She spoke with complete appreciation written all over her face and intertwined in her vocal chords. Suddenly, she was washed over with concern as she noticed the girl holding her shoulder. "Speaking of being hurt, are you okay? You don't look too good." Her worries were written all in her eyes as she matched gazes with the girl. She wanted to help her in turn for her helping her out when she really needed it. Not to mention, if she couldn't use a rune on this girl, then she really needed to help her as soon as possible. She didn't care if she was a werewolf and probably healed faster than Victoria cared to know. Vic wanted to help, and help now, before something bad happened.[/blockquote] tagged; open! words; 431 outfit; here!notes; sorry that this is so late/short. </3 [/blockquote]
